Bronagh Hinds is Senior Associate with DemocraShe which she founded to advance women in politics, public life and peace-building. She works with international institutions, political, government and civil society bodies, most recently on Syria and Iraq for the UN, Ukraine and Northern Ireland/Ireland.
Hinds cofounded the Women’s Coalition, was involved in negotiating the Belfast/Good Friday Agreement and led implementation of its equality provisions as the first Deputy Chief Commissioner of the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland. She sits on the Board of Ireland’s Glencree Centre for Peace and Reconciliation.
Hinds was selected UK Woman of Europe in 1998 and awarded the International Women's Democracy Centre Global Democracy Award in 2002. She is an Honorary Senior Research Practitioner at Queen’s University Belfast.
